Fergie ready to make double swoop

(20-09-2010) Wilson Palacios is in Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s sights. According to reports, a move will be made for the Honduran international due to doubts about Owen Hargreaves ability to play top class football again. Palacios has impressed in his 18 months at Tottenham and was one of the driving forces that led Harry Redknapp’s team into this season’s Champions League. Spurs paid Wigan £12m for the 26-year-old and are expected to demand upwards of £16m from United to part with him. Another player who remains in Fergie's sights is Real Madrid flop Karim Benzema. Apparently the Frenchman has failed to impress new Real boss Jose Mourinho who is prepared to sell the striker. Benzema cost the club over £30m from Lyon a year ago.
