Knife for Carra so Reds eye French replacement
(01-12-2010) Liverpool look likely to beef up their defensive resources by making a move for French defender Adil Rami. This comes after their veteran centre-back Jamie Carragher was ruled out for three months following a shoulder dislocation against Tottenham last weekend. Carragher's worst fears were confirmed on Tuesday when doctors decided he must undergo surgery to repair the injury. This means Lille star Rami moves to the top of Reds boss Roy Hodgson’s January shopping list. Rami is 24-years-old and is a current French international. Should he fail to land Rami, Hodgson will set his sights on Bolton’s Gary Cahill, who is likely to cost around £3m more.
