French club in shock Drogba move and other red-hot gossip

(13-12-2010) Marseille are ready to make an audacious attempt to resign Didier Drogba from Chelsea in January. The 32-year-old Ivorian joined the Blues from Marseille for £24m in 2004. The French club’s manager Didier Deschamps now wants to lure him back so that he can see out his playing days at a club that is very close to his heart. Elsewhere, Everton manager David Moyes has admitted he may have to sell midfielder Steven Pienaar in the January transfer window to revive his ailing strike force; Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is set to make a record-breaking £7m move for Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia; and German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has delivered a crushing blow to Chelsea and Manchester United by pledging his future to Bayern Munich and signing a new contract.
