Anderson commits to United

(16-12-2010) Brazilian star Anderson has extended his Manchester United contract to 2015. The 22-year-old joined the Red Devils from Porto in 2007 for £18m. He has made 110 appearances for the club since then, despite suffering a serious knee ligament injury last season. "We are delighted he has signed a new contract," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson on Wednesday. "Anderson has developed tremendously since joining us and he has fantastic potential at only 22; he is going to be a really top player." The player struggled at first with many United fans thinking he was lazy. But in recent months he has started shining. "This is the best club to be at and I would like to thank everyone for the great support I have received over the years," added Anderson.
