Special One targets Gunners star

(31-12-2010) Jose Mourinho wants Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas to join him at Real Madrid in the summer. However, the ‘Special One’ has his work cut out because the Gunners skipper played for Real’s fiercest rivals Barcelona as a boy. Fabregas has also long been linked with a move back to Barca. But, according, to new reports, Mourinho is prepared to fight the Catalans for the midfield maestro and will offer defender Ezequiel Garay, midfielders Lassana and Mahamadou Diarra or Gago in part-exchange. "Mourinho has decided to convince Cesc personally he can be the next leader of the team," a Real insider told The Sun newspaper on Friday. Fabregas has made 242 starts for Arsenal since signing as a 17-year-old in 2003.
