I won’t spend – Scrooge McWenger

(01-12-2010) Arsene Wenger is adamant he does not need to spend money in the January transfer window after watching an Arsenal team made up largely of reserves book a place in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup on Tuesday. After defeating Wigan 2-0, Wenger said: "We made nine changes and were still without Abou Diaby, Thomas Vermaelen, Manuel Almunia and Sebastien Squillaci who are injured. And that's apart from the players we rested and then we have Aaron Ramsey to come back. I don't know where to put all of my players.” He added: "Our squad is as good as Manchester United and Chelsea's - that's what we want to show in the second half of the season. My policy is to stick to the squad I have, we will not be on the market." Arsenal have not won a trophy since 2005.
