Benitez on his way to Italy and other red-hot gossip

Juventus have resumed their pursuit of Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez after Bordeaux's Laurent Blanc and Fiorentina's Cesare Prandelli turned down the chance to take charge of the Italian club. Elsewhere, Lille playmaker Eden Hazard has expressed a desire to go to Real Madrid or Arsenal should he leave the Stade Metropole; Wolfsburg's £25m-rated striker Edin Dzeko, a target of Chelsea and Manchester City, says he is open to a move to England despite AC Milan being his preferred option; AC Milan are lining up a £20m bid for Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic after making the defender their top summer priority; and Manchester United could move for unsettled Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, a player Sir Alex Ferguson attempted to buy from Lyon last summer.
