Our rivals are going backwards – Wenger

It’s been five long years since Arsenal last won any silverware, yet manager Arsene Wenger bizarrely insists that the Gunners are the only club in the top four who are on the up! And in an astonishing interview, the Frenchman also branded title favourites Chelsea over-the-hill and claims the FA and Carling Cups are way down his list of priorities. “We are going on an upward curve, that is for sure,” insisted Wenger. “They (others in top four) are coming down, that is for sure as well.” He added: “Chelsea have six or seven players over 30 years old. They will not go up. But Roman Abramovich can say in the summer, ‘I buy seven players of 24’ and then you are in the same race again.” Arsenal's long-suffering fans may not agree!
