No Silva lining for United

Real Madrid are determined to pull a fast one on Manchester United for the second season running by stealing Valencia forward David Silva from right underneath Sir AlexFerguson’s big purple nose. United have been chasing Silva for the past year and have made him one of their prime summer targets. But just as they did last season when they snapped up hot Frenchman Karim Benzema just as the Red Devils thought they had landed their man, it seems the La Liga giants are now set to do the same with Silva by sealing a £22m deal before the start of the World Cup. Real apparently want the 24-year-old as the main piece of their rebuilding work this summer after a disappointing campaign. Good news for United is that they could now finally land Benzema, who will certainly leave the Bernabeau if the club signs Silva!
