United's interest in Spanish star fading and other red-hot gossip

Instead, the Red Devils are going to up their bid to sign Real Madrid misfit Karim Benzema. Elsewhere, Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun is set for £9m move to CSKA Moscow; Shakhtar Donetsk winger Doug Costa, the Brazilian winger described as the new Ronaldinho, has said that he has not given up hope of a move to Manchester United; Newcastle are hoping to sign Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara for £5m; and Arsenal are battling it out with Manchester United over Fiorentina keeper Sebastien Frey.
