In a message that will send shivers down the spines of every club on the planet, Lionel Messi claims there is still room for him to improve. Fresh from his four-goal Champions League heroics for Barcelona against Arsenal on Tuesday, the 22-year-old Argentine said: “I am so lucky to have a dressing room where everybody loves me and supports me and always say beautiful things about me but as I say I want to keep improving and keep growing as a player.” Messi’s Barcelona teammate Xavi added: “Leo is on another level completely from every other player in the world. He is in a different class. If you are lucky, you might find a player like this coming along every quarter of a century.” Bookmakers have stopped taking bets on Messi retaining his title as World Player of the Year.
