Rooney is devastating – Fergie

Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Wayne Rooney performance after the striker grabbed two goals during Manchester United’s 3-2 win over AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday. The brace, courtesy of two headers, took Rooney’s goal tally to 25 for the season and put the Red Devils in the driving seat to move into the quarterfinals ahead of the second leg. "He's in devastating form, they could not handle him second half. He was marvellous," said United boss Ferguson afterwards. "What we said he has to do is improve his goalscoring and now he's doing it." The United boss also said he felt Rooney could now be spoken of in the same breath as the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. "His basic ability is as good as those players. He must be regarded alongside them."
