Wenger accuses rivals of ‘half-cheating’
Arsene Wenger has blasted clubs who spend heavily in search of success, claiming they are 'half-cheating'. "Professional football is about winning and balancing the budget," the Arsenal manager told the Daily Express newspaper on Friday. "That's the basic rule, one I fought for. All the rest is half-cheating.” Wenger has made a name for himself in England as a manager who favours turning young talent into polished diamonds instead of splashing millions on established stars. "For every club it has to be the same. I always pleaded for financial fair play,” continued the Frenchman. "The clubs belong to the fans. That's all I feel my responsibility is, to keep the club in good financial condition." Currently half of clubs in the EPL are owned by foreign investors. Wenger is Arsenal’s most successful ever manager and has won three EPL titles with the club.
