United offer Rooney massive money and other transfer gossip

Manchester United will offer Wayne Rooney a massive pay rise to beat off the advances of Real Madrid and Barcelona. The La Liga giants have been keeping a close eye on the England star after news emerged of financial trouble at Old Trafford. But in a statement of intent, the Red Devils management said on Sunday that they would offer Rooney £150,000 a week to keep him at the club. Elsewhere, Ruud van Nistelrooy will join Hamburg to win back his place in the Holland team before the World Cup, leaving EPL suitors Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham frustrated; Everton have jumped to the front of the queue to sign AC Milan striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar, with the Dutchman also interesting Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool; and Tottenham are ready to make a last-minute swoop for Palermo's giant 20-year-old Danish defender Simon Kjaer.
