Youngsters make Sir Alex proud

Sir Alex Ferguson has vowed to stick with the club’s youngsters for the semi-finals of the Carling Cup. This after a team made up largely of emerging players fired the Red Devils into the last four with a convincing 2-0 win over Tottenham on Tuesday. "I want these lads to enjoy the semi-finals because they will play again - they are all definitely getting better," said Ferguson after watching Darron Gibson score two first half wonder goals to down Spurs. "We're gaining because they are getting the chance to play in these matches." Gibson’s first strike was from 25 yards while his second was a curling shot into the top corner after he collected a return pass from Danny Welbeck. "He did very well," Ferguson said of Gibson. "The second goal in particular was fantastic, the movement and working off the ball was good and it was a terrific finish."
