Gunners chase French hitman and other transfer rumours
Arsenal are keeping close tabs on four strikers as potential replacements for the injured Robin Van Persie. French goal ace Andre-Pierre Gignac is top of Arsene Wenger’s wanted list, followed by Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh, Inter Milan's Mario Balotelli and Wolfsburg ace Edin Dzeko. Gignac is rated at £12m. Elsewhere, Tottenham are set to beef up their midfield by signing midfielder Sandro from Brazilian club Internacional for £7m; Manchester United are ready to sell wingers Zoran Tosic and Nani in order to free up funds to sign Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko and Schalke 04 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer; Birmingham are keen on Marseille strike duo Brandao and Mamadou Niang; and West Ham are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich's Italian striker Luca Toni.
